Will to Live Online is a multiplayer survival shooter in an open world. Everything here is reminiscent of the beloved atmosphere of the Stalker series of games. Grim wastelands, all sorts of anomalies, dangerous mutants, mines, bunkers, and more. Here, players perform tasks, develop their character, buy firearms and equipment, fight monsters and each other.

WTL Online is a survival game, and so you will die a lot and often. You should immediately accept this fact and take it for granted. You will be killed by mutants and other players, you will lose some items, you will run a lot, get hurt and die from bleeding wounds. But it's not as scary as it sounds.

Customizing your character's appearance isn't too flexible. There are only three body types and a few faces available. But you can choose and repaint clothes.

After creating your character you will wake up in an unfamiliar camp. According to the plot you are brought here shell-shocked, and you have lost your memory. Now you will have to re-integrate into local society, running errands for the local town's NPCs.

The town is very small, and there aren't many NPCs. But the atmosphere is lively. There are all kinds of kids running around all the time. From everywhere you can hear the conversations in the voice chat, which is common. From the windows of abandoned houses, you can hear scraps of other people's stories.

Weapons in the game for every taste. There are pistols, and machine guns, and rifles, and knives, and much more. Each type of weapon uses a certain type of ammunition, which, it must be said, are not cheap, and in death can fall out of the character (as well as the weapon itself). That is why it is dangerous to wander the wastelands alone.

The character is affected by hunger and thirst. To quench them, you must, respectively, eat and drink. A well-fed character gradually regains health. Health is the main indicator. Without it, the character will die. Getting mortally wounded in Will to Live Online is easy. But it's not quick and cheap to restore your health.

The graphics in the game are very decent. A post-apocalyptic atmosphere reigns everywhere and creates quite a clear and vivid impression of the game. The interface is very neatly done, everything is simple and clear.

The game changes the time of day. And, it's worth noting, the nights here are dark. So dark that it's hard to make out anything without a flashlight.

The days are mostly overcast and gray, shrouded in a gray haze of fog. But sometimes you can see clear blue skies and puffy clouds in the morning and golden sunsets over the ruins of a dead world when the weather improves. In this respect, the game is very successful. But also the system requirements are appropriate.

The sound is also up to par. A very important part of the atmosphere is created by the players who communicate in the general voice chat in the city. As you walk by, you hear the sounds of their conversations being deleted. You feel like this world is alive. As for the NPCs, not everyone is voiced yet, as the game is still in early access.

Conclusion

If you're looking for the atmosphere of "Stalker", if you like wandering through the ruins of a dead world, if you're not afraid of mutants, death, and constant gunfights with other players, if you are ready to fight for bullets and every can of canned meat, if a bottle of dirty water is more valuable to you than gold, then you will definitely like Will to Live Online. And you're really lucky if you can afford to play on high or max settings.
