Blood of Steel is an atypical game that largely inherits the gameplay of battles from the Mount and Blade series. Players act as medieval warlords and lead small squads of various troops into battle while engaging in combat in person. Soldiers can form themselves into different combat formations, so the outcome of the battle will depend on the tactics chosen.

Multiplayer MOBA with epic-scale battles, where we are allowed to play as different historical characters. In the role of a commander, the player must create an invincible army and destroy all his enemies on bloody battlefields. No jokes, no sit-ins - just rapid army development and bloody real-time battles against virtual and real enemies.

At the very beginning, the player is offered to create a general who will lead the army to victory. To do this, go to the appropriate menu and select any character. With the editor and the customization system, it's possible to uniquely customize the general. Customization can be done with the appearance elements, weapons, and equipment.

All battles are in the format of the siege of castles and fortresses with field battles. The gameplay is focused on network battles. Each player gets to control a squad of medieval soldiers and a unique commander.

It is noteworthy that the developers allow trying on the role of a real historical character. For example, you will be able to take on the role of a centurion of the Roman army or even try on the role of King Leonidas and enter into the battle side by side with the Spartans' army.

After creating a general the gameplay moves on to the battle phase. Each commander and squad has key features that you can and should use during the battles.

Each player gets to control up to 40 units, controlled by artificial intelligence. These include archers, crossbowmen, lances, cavalry, and many more. Success in combat depends solely on the tactical and strategic skills of the player, as well as proper planning and deployment during combat.

Before battle each player must arrange his soldiers and the general, using a certain formation. Depending on the type of soldiers you have to use certain formations and instructions. During the battle, the player can only control the general, while the soldiers are controlled by the AI.

All battles take place in third-person view, which provides full control of the general and the situation as a whole.

The maps feature numerous shelters, various terrain features that players can use to their advantage.

All units are equipped with cold and small arms of the Middle Ages, among which are swords, crossbows, katanas, and axes.

Conclusion

Large-scale MOBA with full bloody battles with swords, axes, katanas, crossbows, and without any magic. Beautiful battle arenas, a large number of modes, the ability to play as real historical characters, the management of entire armies - all this and more offers one of the best medieval MMOs.
