Recent announcements from Epic Games reveal significant updates to the item exclusivity within Fortnite's Battle Pass system. Soon, gamers will be able to acquire past rewards from the Battle Pass that were once only available to a select group. The developer shared the details on their blog, noting that the availability of these items will occur after a designated time frame, potentially starting 18 months after a Battle Pass concludes.
This new approach allows the development team to keep enhancing the Battle Pass rewards while giving players the chance to access and enjoy these items later on, including popular outfits connected to well-known licensed characters, as stated by the company.
In the FAQ section, Epic explained that a variety of items, such as Outfits, Back Blings, Pickaxes, Emotes, Instruments, Decals, Wraps, Loading Screens, and Banner Icons, will all qualify for later purchase. Players should be aware that there is a mandatory waiting period of at least 18 months following the expiration of a Battle Pass before they can purchase these items.
Furthermore, the inclusion of alternative styles for items will vary with each new addition to the shop. Epic emphasized that when items with alternative styles are added to the shop, players will have the option to buy these styles, though the LEGO Styles will always accompany the item being sold.
While some items will have the chance to appear in the shop after the waiting period, Epic clarified that there's no assurance all items will make that transition. Their selection for the in-game shop depends on various factors, and the company committed to informing players if certain items will remain unavailable after the future Battle Pass.
Additionally, rewards from bonuses and quests may also see a purchase option, subject to the same 18-month rule after a Battle Pass concludes, including those accessible from Battle Pass Quests that unlock after the season starts.
Epic Games reassured the community that the price of the Fortnite Battle Pass will remain unchanged despite the recent modifications, continuing to be priced at 950 V-Bucks.
