Gearing Up For The January 2023 Team Go Rocket Takeover In Pokémon Go

Get ready to take on Team Go Rocket in an all-new takeover event coming to Pokémon Go this January! Niantic recently announced the Crackling Voltage event would begin on January 27, 2023, and it will be accompanied by a brand new Team Go Rocket Takeover. This takeover marks the debut of Shadow Registeel in Pokémon Go and features Shadow Pokemon like Alolan Vulpix, Spoink, and Joltik. Read on for all the details about what trainers can expect from this exciting event.

The Crackling Voltage event begins on Wednesday, January 27th, at 10 AM local time and will run until Sunday, February 7th, at 8 PM local time. During that period, players can expect increased spawns of Electric-type Pokemon like Pikachu and Magnemite as well as boosted hatch rates for Eggs containing Electric-type Pokemon. But that's not all - during this period, there will also be a Team Go Rocket Takeover featuring shadow variants of popular Pokemon like Alolan Vulpix, Spoink, and Joltik.

To take part in the event, players must first defeat any nearby Grunts they encounter while exploring their environment or completing various tasks around them, such as Field Research tasks or Trainer Battles. After defeating enough Grunts, they should then challenge one of three regional leaders - Sierra (Americas), Cliff (Europe/Africa), or Arlo (Asia/Pacific). Defeating these leaders gives players access to a variety of rewards, including stardusts and rare items such as golden razors, which are used to purify Shadow Pokemon into their normal forms.

As if that wasn't enough already - those who manage to complete the whole team go rocket takeover should make sure they don't forget about catching the special shadow variant pokemon featured during the event! These include Alolan Vulpix (Ice type), Spoink (Psychic type), and Joltik (Bug/Electric type). Each of these pokemon has unique stats compared with their regular counterparts, so make sure you catch them when you see them out in wild areas during this period.

Don’t miss out on your chance to take part in one of Pokémon GO’s biggest events yet – The January 2023 Team GO Rocket Takeover is set to be an action-packed experience full of surprises, so get ready for some intense battles against powerful foes from around the world! Good luck, Trainers – we wish you success throughout your journey!
