Twitch Unveils 2023 Roadmap with Focus on Improving Ads and Streamer Brand Management

Twitch has recently announced its 2023 roadmap, which outlines a number of changes and updates to its platform. Among the changes are improvements to the way ads are run, new tools to help streamers manage their brand deals, and tools to help with chat engagement. The biggest update to the platform is the plan to make pre-roll ads less annoying.

Twitch’s Chief Product Officer Tom Verrilli and Chief Monetization Officer Mike Minton outlined the changes in an open letter. The changes to the way ads are displayed during a stream are the most significant of the updates. Twitch is working on allowing viewers to skip ads and increase the frequency at which ads are shown so that the ads are spread out more evenly over the stream.

Another significant update is the addition of new first-party tools to help streamers manage their brand deals. This will give streamers the ability to negotiate better deals and also provide more transparency and clarity with the brands they work with.

The third major update is the introduction of tools to help streamers manage their chat engagement. This will help streamers create a better experience for their viewers by providing features such as chat moderation, chatbot integration, and automated moderation.
